Triangle Networking – Leads Groups

LEADS GROUPS are local business networking groups – there are a number of them in and around the Triangle area.

  • There are no membership requirements – attend as often or as little as you like. Of course, the more you attend, the better people will get to know you and want to do business with you.
  • There are no dues requirements – you pay only when you attend. Typically, the first meeting is free and then it is $5 per meeting (fees may vary per group)
  • There are no restrictions on the businesses that may participate. You might find another person who provides the same product or service as you. This is not necessarily a bad thing – look at the other people and figure out how to differentiate yourself from them.

The sizes of the Leads Groups vary – some as small as 15 people and some over 50. Be sure to bring lots of business cards. The typical agenda is as follows:

  • Sign-in and networking NOTE: It is recommended that you arrive about 15 minutes before the meeting start time.
  • Meeting starts with introductions and announcements
  • “Around the room” attendees give a 30-60 second presentation (time varies by group)
  • 5-10 minute break for networking and food (varies by group)
  • Featured speaker(s) – after you have attended for a while (each group has different requirements), you may sign up to be a featured speaker
  • Adjourn – continue networking
