Durham Chamber New Member Information

(note: all links open in a new window or tab)

Welcome to the Durham Chamber of Commerce. I am an ambassador for the Durham Chamber and will be glad to answer any questions about the Chamber and your membership, or direct you to the person who can help. Below are a few tips for making the most of your Chamber membership.

MEMBER DIRECTORY

As a new member, the first thing to do is to check your directory listing to ensure that it is correct and will help people find you. You can access the complete member directory at Member Directory. Just as you would like others to utilize your services, please try to use other Chamber members when you can – be sure to mention that you found them on the Chamber directory.

EVENTS

Like any organization, the best way to take advantage of your membership is to participate in the events put on by that organization. You can see a complete list of Durham Chamber events at Calendar of Events

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS (BAH)

Most months have a Business After Hours (BAH), hosted by one of the Chamber members, on the 4th Thursday. There are generally quite a few people in attendance at these and I always make good connections. These events are FREE for Chamber members. if you want to bring a guest that is not with your business, just let Ginny Kirk or Mable know and they will add the name to the guest list so they don’t need to pay.

If you would like to host a BAH event, contact Mabel Rogers.

CHAMBER U

Many Wednesdays have Chamber U (University) programs, which are educational and also networking opportunities. If you have a program you would like to host, just let Ginny Kirk know – these should be educational, rather than sales talks.

SIGNATURE EVENTS

Throughout the year, there are some special events put on by the chamber. These typically have a huge turnout (hundreds of people) and are a great way to connect. Of course, these are on the calendar, but you can see them spotlighted at Signature Events.

COMMITTEES

There are a number of committees that the chamber has including the Ambassador Committee – you can see these on this page: Chamber Committees. If you are interested in joining any, contact the committee head.

I hope to see you at some of these events and, as I said above, just CONTACT ME if I can help or answer questions.
